A day on a boat in Ibiza can be unforgettable if you prepare a little. Here are some practical tips so the whole group is comfortable and safe.
What to bring: sunscreen (water-resistant and high protection), cap or hat, sunglasses, light clothing and a change of clothes in case you get wet. Non-slip shoes or deck shoes prevent slips on the deck. Towel, snorkel and mask if you want to dive in. We usually have complimentary drinks on board; if you have preferences or special needs, ask when booking. Food: you can bring a picnic or stop at a beach bar; in both cases bringing plenty of water is essential.
What to avoid: don't bring glass bottles or containers on board; at sea they're dangerous if they break. Avoid items that can't stand sun or water (phones and cameras are better in a dry bag). Don't throw anything into the sea: no paper, plastic or cigarette butts. In the boat's toilet you must not flush anything that isn't biodegradable; blockages are costly and harmful.
Timing and pace: a full-day trip is usually around 8 hours. The ideal is to leave mid-morning, make a first stop for a swim or snorkel, then head to a cove or Formentera, have a relaxed lunch and return with time to reach port in daylight. You don't need to pack the day with coves; two or three well-chosen stops are often better than rushing.
Children and non-swimmers: life jackets are on board; children should wear them when on deck or near the water. Avoiding running on the boat and following the skipper's instructions keeps everyone safe.
Finally: apply sunscreen before you leave and reapply after each swim. The sun at sea burns more than you think. With these tips, your day on the boat will be comfortable, safe and complete.
