The best coves of Ibiza by boat

Ibiza is famous for its crystal-clear coves and dreamy seabeds. Reaching them by boat lets you enjoy them with more privacy and at times when the beach is still quiet. Cala Comte (Cala Conta), on the west coast, is one of the most photographed: stunning sunsets, several inlets and turquoise water. We recommend anchoring in mid-morning or late afternoon to avoid the busiest times. The bottom is sand and rock; the anchor holds well. Cala Bassa, very close by, offers a more family-friendly vibe and a beach bar with service. Ideal for lunch or a drink without going ashore. The water is shallow near the shore, perfect for swimming with children. In the north, Cala Benirràs stands out for its bohemian atmosphere and sunset drumming. By boat you can anchor off the beach and enjoy the scene without the crowds. Cala Xarraca, a bit more hidden, has calm water and a small bar; it's perfect for a midday stop. To the south, Cala d'Hort gives you the view of the islet of Es Vedrà, one of Ibiza's most iconic postcards. The bottom is rocky; anchor carefully and check the hold. Cala Tarida and Cala Moli are other nearby options with good anchorage and beach facilities. Tip: leaving early from Marina Ibiza gets you to west or north coast coves before they fill up.
